Kitchen Remodel Guide
Kitchen remodel estimates often depend on layout changes, cabinet scope, countertop selections, appliances, electrical work, plumbing changes, flooring, and finish allowances.
Before comparing estimates: decide whether you are refreshing finishes, replacing cabinets, or changing the layout. Those scopes should be quoted separately.
What to compare
- Cabinet type, countertop material, backsplash, flooring, and fixture allowances
- Electrical, plumbing, lighting, ventilation, and appliance installation scope
- Demolition, debris removal, permits, and temporary kitchen expectations
- Change-order process and lead times for custom materials
Questions to ask
- Which finish selections are included as allowances?
- Who coordinates plumbing, electrical, inspections, and permits?
- How will cabinet measurements and appliance specs be confirmed?
- What parts of the kitchen will be unusable during the project?
